I decided to learn to bake cookies. I found a recipe that I thought looked easy: https://www.completelydelicious.com/soft-chewy-chocolate-cookies/
First, I beat together my butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
I then sifted the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
The dough is mixed and ready to be scooped.
I used my ice cream scoop to create perfect balls, and I put them into the oven. Then, after 9 minutes, they did not flatten. So I took them out and had to flatten them with a spoon. Since they were mostly cooked, they became very uneven.
When I took these out of the oven, I was extremely disappointed. The edges were too hard, but the inside was a little softer. These would taste better with ice cream or some milk.
In conclusion, this was a failure. I don’t think I will ever make these again, as they were too chocolatey for my taste. I also didn’t know what I did wrong, as my dough looked just like the recipe. I might have scooped them too big, but they still should have flattened. I won’t be making these, but for other cookies, I will:
- Be careful and notice what they measured the balls with.
- Check on them every few minutes, so you know what to do.
These weren’t delicious, but they were still edible. I’ll keep this in mind while making other cookies.
